How happy can you be over seeing a suitcase  ?  Way Too Happy  Great

28. august 2004-2
What can I say; we had a wonderful send off at Harrisburg Airport, by family and Rotarians including Connie Spark and District Governor Steve Messner.

After our arrival in  Dulles  Airport  and the long walk to the connecting terminal we loaded into the plane for our 7.5 hour flight.
During   the walk, our first trip purchase was the universal shoulder strap so Pete could carry more luggage and become the designated mule.

Once settled in on the flight, Ali, Jen, and Peg put the finishing touches on our presentation. Inserting wedding photo’s etc.

Sooooo
……14 hours later we all arrived at the
Aalborg Airport minus one piece of luggage.
We were met by our first host families and treated to a traditional Danish lunch in their homes, most notably, the fresh fish, herring and liver pate.
After a little rest the group met at Hans and Bettina’s farm house and feasted like kings.
Many stories told over good food and drink.
This is the beginning of a great adventure, with lots of interesting people, landscapes and food.
We look forward to the next day.
Please follow along in our adventures.

They are here, I have welcomed them at the airport, all in good shape - Peg is missing 1 suitcase, but we hope they will find it soon.

We have held our last preparation meeting and we are ready for departure to Denmark on August 27th.

In appreciation to Ali for taking our pictures and words and developing a Team Presentation, Kathryn Pearce made Ali a beautiful engraved bracelet.

Pictured is Ali pleasantly surprised when given her gift. The group picture shows us relaxed and ready for travel.

The Team is still back home in PA, but they sent us this message:

PREPARATIONS FOR GSE TRIP TO DENMARK UNDERWAY

The GSE Team from District 7390 has been meeting since April in preparation for our trip to District 1440. Although there are projects to be completed, including: paperwork for RI, uniforms to be purchased and presentations to prepare, there is also time for fun.

With much excitement we look forward to our arrival in Denmark, to starting the tour, and to making new friends.

We hope you enjoy our pre-trip photos.
